IKiP for family foundations

Family foundation accounting that understands investments.

A fundacja rodzinna (Polish family foundation) requires a specialised approach to assets, accounting and documentation. Stock market transactions, brokerage statements and multiple currencies are part of this specialism. At IKiP, we keep the books with day-to-day data checks, financial reporting and audits in mind.

From brokerage statements to organised books.

We analyse brokerage account statements and record the transactions they contain. We reconcile transaction histories and balances with the foundation’s records. This makes it possible to trace where individual figures come from.

Transactions and cash flows

Purchases and sales of financial instruments, commissions, dividends, interest and transfers of funds. We ensure that entries can be linked to their source documents.

Currencies and exchange differences

We record foreign currency transactions and account for exchange differences. We take the nature of the assets and the foundation’s accounting policies into account.

FIFO, LIFO and valuation — the right principles matter.

We understand accounting methods for valuing investment disposals, including FIFO, LIFO and the weighted average method. We apply principles appropriate to the relevant regulations and the adopted accounting policies. Tax treatment is assessed separately: a method selected in a broker’s report does not replace the requirements of Polish law. We organise the records and data needed for portfolio valuation.

Preparing for the audit from the start.

We maintain an organised structure for source documents, account reconciliations, transaction summaries and valuation data. We help prepare materials and explanations for an independent auditor. The Act requires a foundation audit at least once every four years. If the financial statements are subject to a statutory audit under the Polish Accounting Act, the foundation audit is conducted annually, before the statements are approved.

Legal basis: Articles 77–79 of the Polish Family Foundation Act

The foundation’s assets have a wider context.

Financial investments, property, equity interests and benefits for beneficiaries require the correct identification and documentation of transactions. We work with the relevant specialists on legal and tax matters. The foundation’s inventory of assets, resolutions, consultations and audits are priced individually. Statutory audits are carried out by an independent provider that meets the legal requirements.

Specialist expertise with clear pricing.

The monthly accounting fee for a family foundation from month 4 is 499 PLN net for up to 1000 documents. Each document above the limit costs 5 PLN net. For the first 3 months, you pay 1 PLN net per month for up to 1000 documents, plus 5 PLN net for each additional document. Annual returns and additional services are listed separately in the price list. We agree on how transactions in reports and statements are counted before entering into a contract.
